If you’re coming from Pretty Shiny Sparkly, WELCOME! And if you haven’t checked out my guest post for PSS, check it out now! I’m talking about what to wear for the holidays! This particular post on MY blog is what I’m wearing for Christmas day-a festive, retro-style dress and a fur coat. You can’t get any better! Oh, and fishnets for a dash of sexiness.
What do you say?Oh, my new favorite find. This lovely crocheted duster was found during a mass sweep thrifting in San Diego. I am completely in love with this baby-a new love in my closet. It is the perfect length, perfect weight and the perfect shade- Dusty Beige. The price you must be wondering was a glorious two dollars and some chump change. Man, I must know how to find those deals. The polka-dot top was found also during my San Diego sweep for 99 cents. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, 99 cents. Is there a prize for finding the cheapest finds? I think I’ve won that. I’ve been in this mood where I want to wear all kinds of long things, layered with other lengths; hence the short skirt. I’m not sure what it is but it’s like a sexy demure look that I can’t get enough of. Are you all wearing long pieces these days?
As you all know, I’m a huge fan of mixing the hell out of my closet. So, pulling all these random pieces out of my closet just worked for me. The best way to mix patterns, prints and textures is to find the common denominator. Mine was the light color (beige, white). It’s always difficult to pull off a multi-color, multi-print, multi-texture look so keep it basic with basic colors. Nothing loud or you’ll look like a clown.
Did I mention that my favorite part of this duster is that the sleeves are so long, they cover my hands? Yes, favorite part.

A great treat I received, is now a gift to you all! The lovely Michelle of FVNCY, drew little ol’ me. I think she did a great job-what do you guys think? Check out the original!
And for a fun, very random piece of work, a lovely video for you to watch. I learned to rap.
If you can’t tell, I’m in a very strange mood. I chose to shoot at the cemetery on a seemingly clear day-no spooks, no darkness, just a GORGEOUS day. I’m feeling dark but I’m definitely not acting like it. It’s a very weird sensation but these images sure describe how I feel.
The headstone I’m sitting at is actually a pretty awesome discover by my brother and I. The headstone is where the Hogan family “lives”-who happens to be the name of my alma mater high school. It’s pretty neat because they are actually tearing down the school after this school year and re-naming the middle school after my alma mater. At least my school won’t be “non-existent” when googled.
This cemetery is one of the ugliest ones I’ve ever been to and one of the oldest. There’s hardly any green grass anywhere and half the headstones have either cracked or fallen off their pillars, causing unlevel ground. It’s the strangest how once the families have gone and past, that no one seems to come and take care of the grave sites. It’s almost sad in a way that there’s no one to plant new grass or new flowers or someone to come and have a chit chat with? Oh God, I’m way too emotional, can you tell?
I’ve been dying to wear my new vintage culottes out since I got them a few weeks back. They are my new favorite pant-the way they swish and sway and lay against my body. It feels so good. They really should be altered though-the fit should be higher on the waist (if you can’t tell by the darts) but I’m lazy and don’t want to see the alternation bill.

I’ll leave you with this funny little clip of a video I made before going out. I’m telling you, I’ve got to learn french. I’m a failure for sure. But can we please talk about the screen shot of the video first? Yes, this video shall make you giggle inside or out. Click here to subscribe for more YouTube videos!
Also, check out my cool little interview over at Fashion & Tech with SFFAMA! Don’t forget-I’m speaking there on the 18th!
So many lovely things going on in these shots. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve had an obsession with sheer which leaves me with so many options to wear. I find it so sexy yet demure wearing this AA tunic blouse as a dress with a pair of high waist bloomers and my favorite demi bra. I’m also adoring my new hat from Labels Consignment in Berkeley. It suits my style perfectly with a bit demure, a little age and a lot of sass. The most special thing about these photographs are Jay Adam’s beautiful touches. This man captures beauty I could never imagine- he makes me feel so significant to his art. Do you bloggers work with photographers that just take your breath away? Check out more of his work here.
I’ve always looked up to Dorothy Dandridge for her demure yet sexy appeal. She was this gorgeous, radiant woman throughout her acting career and I’ve always wanted to capture her essence. I was sitting across from these steps the day before Jay and I shot and I had this flashback to her life (depicted in the life story casted to Halle Berry, 1999), where she’s walking down steps, looking magical and sunkissed. I instantly texted Jay and said we HAD TO SHOOT HERE and just like that, Jay created exactly what I wanted to capture.

A huge, ginormous, never-ending thank you to all who are voting for me! Thus far, I’ve stayed in the 60-70′s rank out of 337-not bad. You guys are my biggest motivator to be the best blogger I can be and regardless of this opportunity, I couldn’t be more thankful for all of you following me on my journey. It’s been two months now that I’ve dedicated myself completely to Profresh Style and I couldn’t possibly look back. Yet, as much as I want this job for Sunglass Hat, I know whatever happens will happen and there are so many other great bloggers in the running! I know the right person will win! So, if you want me to be that person, vote for me here!
