New York is chalked full of stylish people from all over the globe. Shooting some street style for the AMEX & IFB blog as well has my own as really opened me up to asking people for their photo. I’ve come across so many people and I am truly fascinated by who and what they come from, how their style becomes personal, etc.

This guy above, Courtney, was great. He was wearing a Givenchy blazer that was to die for; quite classy and sophisticated. Mixing the blazer with the oxfords and TopShop bracelets sealed the deal. It created this look that wasn’t uniform, it was all his own. Check out his blog at classiccomplex.com. I love menswear blogs and his is quite a fantastic one. Adding him to my blogroll right away.

I love these girls. Both Amelia and Katherine had this slight edge to them without being over the top. Their aesthetic was clean and comfortable. I think what really drew me to these girls was the lightweight makeup, the soft and pull-backed hair and the minimalist wear that really sold me on their style. Katherine (R) works for Ralph Lauren and Amelia (L) works for Vogue Italia so no wonder these girls had such an ease to their personal style.

Karen from Where Did U Get That, is such a doll. We’ve been emailing back and forth via IFB and I must say, she is quite the sweetheart. Meeting bloggers is quite an expectation. You’re never sure how they will act or if they will even be willing to speak with you. Karen, however, was probably one of the sweetest I’ve met yet. Truly down to earth with such a lively spirit. A photographer captured us jumping in the street yesterday, which I can’t wait to show you all, and someone who is just down for whatever, whenever, is alright in my books.

This anon woman was amazing. She had such a light about her and her jewelry made me quite happy as I’m sure you could imagine. Most of her jewelry was Swarovski but she dressed it up like it was nothing, “just something I threw on”. I loved her aura and couldn’t get enough of it. You all know I’m such a jewelry whore so this woman, I was all over.

More street style to come!
xx,

Christina

My gorgeous sister, Grace, turned ten years old today. It’s crazy that she’s now in the double digits and she’s quite an amazing girl…already goal oriented and passionate about what she wants out of life. As I remember, she wants to be a hairstylist and she is such the fashionista, ohhh and a clean freak. We both loved Clean House and watching any and all fashion shows. She’s pretty much my little twin. I LOVE IT.

btw, we’re missing emily, the last sister :( sorry em.

Not much of an active day today besides work; so boring BUT tomorrow, is an amazing event. I’ll definitely be blogging about it so stay tuned. Well, I guess I’ll post my outfit today considering it was pretty dang hot. :) I DIYed my skull I found at some random Indian store on Haight. I’m OBSESSED with this thing and I want more.

Although my outfit became much cuter when I got to work; bought some amazing nude fishnet tights and wore my leather and wood slingbacks. It was such a look but I didn’t have time to take a photo. It was way overcast by the time I got home; so sad. But I’ll be posting a grand outfit tomorrow for this huge event, right Liz? :)

Headed down to Haight St on Sunday and fell in lust with these graffiti artists. They had just started when we arrived but by the time we left, they were finishing quite an amazing piece of art. I’ve had an obsession with graffiti artists since living in SoCal when I was a junior in high school; they were scandalous, creative, dangerous and exciting. Finally; I’ve captured them in action.

I finally cut my hair. I get bangs about once a year and yesterday, was the day to do it again. I went short and it’s going to get shorter. I’d say the best cut about six or seven inches although she says five but who knows. I’m thinking of going chin-length; need something more edgy because my long hair wasn’t cutting it. It was boring and had nothing exciting about it; and since I don’t dye my hair, cutting is my only solution.

I’ve had a blog for quite some time now, going close to a year or so and I needed a fresh start. I forgot why I started blogging in the first place and felt it was time to renew; new look, new feeling, new host (typepad). Working on getting a better camera, a better laptop and oh yes, more time. We’ll see how I like Typepad; cross your fingers.

My website is still in the works only because I need to change its’ focus. I realize that my whole nobodyknowsyou concept wasn’t really valid. Yes, I feel that what my purpose, showcasing the up and coming “profresh creatives” as I’ve called them, was legit. Yet, ultimately, it seemed as though, I wasn’t finding many people who were original, who clearly knew their own personal style. It seemed as though I was finding many people who were carbon copies of some other, well-known creatives. I did find some amazing bloggers, artists, and designers and they were showcased but it wasn’t taking off like I’d hoped. So, that being said, before I started my blog/concept, I was truly focused on building my reputation as a stylist. I still am; and ladies and gents, that is going to be my renewed focus. I’m very happy with my decision and can’t wait to launch ProfreshStyle, Edition II.

I will say that blogging has led me into meeting new people, creating new friendships and learning more about the blogging and its’ surroundings. I realizing how important it is to stay true to your style, who you are and not changing unless it’s to better yourself. I’m happy that I’ve stayed true to myself and my style. Although I enjoy posting photos of my LOD’s (look of the day) and other random photos, I enjoy even more, to rant.  Like a wise woman once said, “…only 10% of real blog enthusiasts read what you have to say.”  so if you are that 10%, I’m in the right company because I enjoy writing…if your the 90%, your most likely in the wrong place.

Staying true, staying wise, staying stylish,

christina dee
