I have a deep, deep obsession with combining purples and reds, way beyond what’s normal.

Three strong statements of the day:

  • I’m even thinking of decorating my apartment in these colors. Don’t ask me, I have no idea what the hell is going through my mind but it’s a hardcore obsession.
  • This dress is also a favorite thrifted find. This piece fits amazingly except I feel there used to be shoulder pads but it’s much better without them.
  • I’ve never felt sexier in a red dress. Oh, and fro’ing my hair makes me feel even fine. ;)

    Weeow! You look amazing! I love your red dress and it fits you perfectly. I got a giggle reading your post because I too have an obsession with pairing red and purple. Before I moved in with my boyfriend I had my bedroom decked out with purple linens and red furniture and anything else in the two colours I could find. I loved it and highly recommend it but for whatever reason my boyfriend wasn’t so keen on having a purple and red bedroom. I still don’t understand why. xoxo

      This dress actually reminded me of what my mom wore to prom except hers was bright blue, more or less teal and I think it had sleeves or she was wearing gloves but she had the tiered thing going on and so it felt kind of fun to be wearing something that reminded me of my mom!

    You literally killed it in this dress at the IFB conference.

    There’s definitely a way you could work both purple and red into your decorating. They’re great punches of color with a black and white look, or even mixed with navy (though that might be a dark room)

    And, I’m totally down with big curly hair. It’s fun.

      It is? I’m glad you enjoy this combo. I’m really in love with it. I think that’s going to be my goal is to add more color in my wardrobe. I wear too much black! Besides red and purple, I’m thinking of adding blood orange, navy blues and fuschia. I’m kind of freaked out about how much color I want haha!

      HAHA! Those shoes are amazing but super uncomfortable, and that’s coming from someone who has a high tolerance for painful shoes! The whole wood platform-no cushion really drives into the pads of my feet! I wouldn’t recommend walking all over cities in them.
