Lex & I headed to the Capsule street fair yesterday in Hayes Valley- it was an extremely gorgeous day in the city besides the wind and occasional cold bursts. Not only were there great vendors on the street but the people were just as great.
Lex & I got amazing bags from this vendor in the fair; Peasant SF Travelers. The bags were advertised for men but I felt they were so uni-sex. I got the tote for my laptop (mine not shown) & Lex got the amazing doctors bag. They are both made of reused cork…RIGHT!? I thought it was leather made to look like cork..a further post coming soon.
We met this woman who had alll these awesome charms & scraps of metal where she hand stamped anything you'd want. Look what Lex got-
In latin: save me and i will save you. beautiful right?
My birthday gift to myself: This armor ring. Right, obsessed. And look how useful it is below. ;)
We ended our day at Paulette. Macarons-need say more?

We're going down,
And you can see it too.
We're going down,
And you know that we're doomed.
My dear,
We're slow dancing in a burning room.
I was inspired by Almost Famous this morning
If you've never seen the movie, it's a must.
Inspiration post to come.

Earlier this month, I was invited to an event hosted by Marshalls & TJ Maxx; Behind The Seams. At first, I was hesitate, not knowing what to expect. However, it turned out to be an informative event of which I'm glad I attended.
I've never been big on "off-price" shopping and not because of the merchandise. It was because I like shopping in beautiful environments: mood lighting, gorgeous layouts, beautifully dressed mannequins, great & helpful staff-basically what you'd find at boutiques. But my opinion of off-pricing has changed since this event.
I learned that the merchandise they get isn't from previous seasons. It's current merchandise left over from vendors all over the world; it was something like in the thousands of various vendors. It was exciting to know that I could be buying pieces that were currently in stores like Neimans, Bloomies or Nordies for more than 60% off.
At the end of the event, hosted by Allison Deyette, a wardrobe stylist for various TV shows and magazines, we received gift bags. Among the things we received, was a $100 gift card. Of course, I spent mine then and there. What I got for $100 amazed me. Usually that would go to a pair of shoes, if that.
Here's the breakdown of what I purchased (and of course, I ended up, as usual, getting all black/greyish pieces):
Cynthia Rowley silk blouse: originally $40.00/ off-price $19.99
SamSara leather wallet: originally $55.00/ off-price $29.99
Olive Branch straw hat: originally $60.00/ off-price $29.99
(couldn't read label) clutch: originally $20.00/ off-price $12.99
I'm pretty sure that was all a steal. This event may not of made me a dedicated TJ Maxx shopper, but I'll think twice before passing it up to find something brand-name and inexpensive.
Thanks Marshalls & TJ Maxx for the invite and everything!

It's my 100th post!! How exciting…right?
Anyway, so I've been onto the denim on denim but haven't gotten a chance to photograph it. I wore it out to the 7×7 dinner I held at Americano so finally, here's my take on the trend.
To work, I wore it with a basic shoe and my amazing anorak from one of my favorite labels. Le Phare de la Baleine is amazing; I got this coated linen anorak that cinches in the right places and the oversized pockets and chest pockets make this jacket for sure.
While I was shooting, a little kitty cat came up behind me and of course since my camera is on self-timer, I captured a few images of this gorgeous little feline.
I went out later that night, keeping the aesthetic the same but made it more nightlife. I wore my Motel unitard and unbuttoned the denim blouse to show it off. I had to change the shorts to add to my pin-up look. I've been over my bangs for a while, considering it will be summer soon, and sweaty bangs are DEFINITELY not a good look. So, I've been parting my hair down the center and either braiding or twisting my bangs to each side. However, the lounge we were at was mega hot and steamy so my hair…buhhh.
Quite frankly No mo'
getting it
I'm not feeling it
I'm taking back the things I got
from you (you)
And that includes my sweet little nooky too (too)
